It feels so bad to see as how IR is so slow in upgrading the routes. I had a word with a Signal and Telecom engg at Patiala in DEC 2013, he said the up gradation of signal masts with 2CL and 3CL is going on at Dhuri. But after seeing these pics, they are nowhere even near that. Anyhow , I was told by the Dy CPM at DFCCIL, that by March 2016, everything will change on this route, IR may also plan for doubling RBR before DFC starts in 2016. Because to repay the loan DFCCIL took from World-bank, they must start functioning by March 2016. I am a little inquisitive about this that the DFC is entirely going to be on 2x25 KV, and its rolling stock is also going to be wider than the IR rolling stock, How they'll manage to move the traffic of DFC on...
more... IR feeder routes ? Whether they'll consider to commission 2x25Kv for feeder route also ? Or they'll keep a switchover points from where the rolling stock also get switched ? But this is going to be time consuming. IR has a pressure under DFCCIL, as it has told IR to upgrade their feeder routes ASAP, with repair of old bridges, commissioning of ROBs and RUBs , track up gradation etc, electrification as i was told by the engg, would take only 4-6 months only if IR speeds up the up gradation process. Lets see and hope that this new govt shall speed up the process if Mr E. Sreedharan is inducted as Railway Minister. He is the one who started Delhi Metro and also known as Metro Man.
