more... train speed and smooth operations, a new railway line will be laid on Platform 5 of the Cantt Railway Station. This will require a 100-day block, planned for July, to complete the expansion before October, in preparation for the Maha Kumbh. The new signature bridge over the Ganga will have four railway tracks and a six-lane road above. This project is in the design phase, with all railway processes completed. This bridge will significantly improve access to the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay station for train travel and increase freight traffic. The DRM had a two-hour dialogue with 100 running staff, including women loco pilots, to understand their problems and address challenges. He also stressed the need for increased checks on trains at Cantt and DDPU stations to curb unauthorized passengers. Coordination is being planned with the ECR and NER DRMs to optimize train movement between Varanasi City and DDPU stations.
