Local BJP leader Krishanbihari Ray lauded the efforts of former Railway Minister Manoj Sinha for developing Gazippur, including the creation of a new rail depot and a training center. The electric loco shed, built at a cost of 96.46 crores on 12 acres, will house 100 electric engines to serve the North Eastern Railway and will provide repair and maintenance services for the North Eastern and parts of the Northern Railways. The foundation stone for the shed was laid by former MP and Railway Minister Manoj Sinha in 2018. This is the only electric loco shed in the North Eastern Railway zone and is expected to contribute to the economic and social development of the region.
