The project cost ₹672 crore and will allow trains to run from Gorakhpur and Lucknow to Delhi via Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur, offering an alternative to congested routes. The Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, will flag off the first train on September 1st from Delhi via video conferencing. Initially, three pairs of trains will run between Pilibhit-Mailani and one pair between Pilibhit-Lucknow. The route of the existing train running between Lucknow and Shahgarh via Mailani will be extended to Pilibhit. A Gorakhpur-Mailani train will also be extended to Pilibhit, and the special train running from Howrah to Lalkuan via Gorakhpur is planned to be made regular. The line will connect Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, and other cities in North India.

Project ka cost ₹672 crore hai aur yeh Gorakhpur aur Lucknow se Delhi tak trains chalne ka rasta dega, Pilibhit aur Shahjahanpur se hota hua. Yeh congested routes ka ek alternative hai. Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, 1 September ko Delhi se video conferencing se pehli train flag off karenge. Shuruat mein, Pilibhit-Mailani ke beech mein teen pair trains aur Pilibhit-Lucknow ke beech mein ek pair train chalegi. Lucknow se Mailani aur Shahgarh tak chalne wali train ka route ab Pilibhit tak badha diya jaayega. Gorakhpur se Mailani tak chalne wali train ka route bhi Pilibhit tak badha diya jaayega, aur Gorakhpur se Howrah tak Lalkuan jaane wali special train ko regular banaya jaane wala hai. Yeh line Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, aur North India ke dusre cities ko connect karega.
