The demand for a Vande Bharat connecting Agra to Banaras has been ongoing for a long time. The train will run six days a week, departing from Agra Cantt at 6 am and arriving in Banaras at 1 pm. The return journey departs from Banaras at 3.20 pm and arrives in Agra Cantt at 10.20 pm. The train will cover the distance between Agra Cantt and Banaras in seven hours, with stops at Tundla, Etawah, Kanpur Central, and Prayagraj. The Agra Cantt-Banaras Vande Bharat is the fourth Vande Bharat train in the Agra Rail Division and the 13th in Uttar Pradesh. Railway Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu stated that the government is working to provide affordable rail travel for passengers across India, with plans to introduce new Vande Metro and Amrit Bharat premium trains. He also highlighted the significant construction of general and sleeper coaches in rail coach factories.

It has almost the same TT as the Rajya Rani Express, just is 45 mins faster. 2S, GN or even CC passengers won't budge towards VB. And folks will always prefer an overnight train.

I don't see how an extension will benefit it. It takes 7 hrs, 15 mins as it is. Assuming it can cover the next LKO-BSB stretch in 3hrs 45 mins [the DBRT Rajdhani non stop does it in ~4hrs via PBH] via SLN[ shotest route], that'll push the time to 11 hrs. I think that will make...

On the contrary, it was speeded up by some minutes so that it doesn't conflict with the VB. If IR wants to do something, atleast run this VB in reverse direction. That would mean it would complement the Rajya Rani, not be in competition with it.

Funny thing is that they could have just added 6 or so AC coaches to Rajya Rani and called it a day; if they so really wanted folks to have AC travel here. No need to run a separate train and waste more fuel.

Isn't this a huge risk to the lives of people? Many of them will try to board the train before it has come to a stop and sooner or later someone will get injured. Also, what is the point of having RPF at stations if they don't do anything? I haven't yet grasped the role of RPF folks. Isn't it their job to stop and fine people who are doing this?

Either case, all this showcases is what this route truly needs; more local trains.

I think you are giving railways too much credit. If they had thought about it, they had know that introducing a VB train through rural Jharkhand is a disastrous proposition. If they really wanted to benefit people of stations like Kendujhargarh, they had either run an Intercity [I mean, what benefit can VB provide when the tracks don't go beyond 110 kph?] or an overnight train.
