My observations during my trip in 11448 & 11447 :-
1. ECR & WCR have totally radical approaches towards electrification & doubling!
2. WCR believes in a more balanced approach between electrification & doubling, which is a more sensible approach...I really like their approach...
3. ECR is all about electrification first! Doubling really takes a backseat in ECR, as post CPU and OBRA no...
more... apparent attempts have been made towards doubling, while electrification poles have been erected upto Mirchadhuri...
4. I don't like ECR's approach because electrification will not help ease congestion that is present on this route. Plus with well equipped KTE & PTRU diesel loco sheds nearby, I really don't understand much ECR's apparent obsession towards electrifying the route first.
5. ECR should also try updating the tracks between Chopan & Singrauli as during the entire stretch, 11447/8 didn't cross 45 kmph even once, it was a constant crawl at 40 with intermittent stops for crossovers...
5. Although I would state that ECR's job of doubling is much more challenging than WCR ... The entire stretch from CPU to GHD is full of hills, jungles and rocky rivers which would make the doubling episode even more challenging...
