The line via Kuppam and Salem is doubled and electrified, while the line via Hosur and Salem remains largely single. KN Krishna Prasad, of the Karnataka Railway Vedike, suggests the train should run via Bangarpet and Kuppam with stops at KR Puram and Bangarpet. This route allows for higher speeds after Tirupattur.
