This new line will connect the existing 127 km line from Devghar to Hansdiha, Godda, Pirpainti, Vikramshila, Bateshwar Sthan, and Naugachhia. The bridge will link five existing railway lines: Howrah-Patna, Devghar-Dumka, Bhagalpur-Rampurhat, Jamalpur-Howrah-Malda, and Patna-Barauni-Katihar. The project is expected to boost tourism in the area, including Bateshwar Sthan, Vikramshila, Champapuri, Mandar, Tarapith, Devghar, Parsnath, and Basukinath.
