busy corridors like Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam. The project aims to improve connectivity to thermal power plants, iron ore and aluminium industries in South India, and facilitate faster transportation of coal from Mahanadi Coalfields area to power plants in Central and South India. It also promises to expand market access for agricultural products from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The line, prioritised for its socioeconomic impact, will cover 85 km in Andhra Pradesh, 19.5 km in Telangana, and the rest in Odisha. It will enhance transportation of fertilizers, agricultural products, food grains, and cement to tribal villages and offer alternative connectivity during cyclones affecting the coastal Howrah-Vijayawada route.
