an efficient alternative to road transport. The extension of the suburban railway to Kolar is being considered, potentially bypassing Chickballapur. The procurement of railway coaches is facing delays due to a lack of interest from private companies. A high-level meeting will be held in Delhi to address this issue. The project is expected to carry 9.84 lakh passengers daily upon completion. In other news, a tunnel track between Sakleshpur and Subramanya is being proposed. The Chitradurga-Hosapete-Koppal-Alamatti-Vijayapura railway project is also being advocated for, aiming to reduce travel time between Bengaluru and Vijayapura to 10 hours. India is also set to receive 10 new Vande Bharat trains, with one allocated to Karnataka. The route for this new train within the state is yet to be decided.
