The freight train (NMG) carrying two-wheelers and four-wheelers departed from Juhi Yard at 11:08 AM and proceeded on the fourth line of the Bhimsen route towards Govindpuri Station. As the train was gaining speed, the 11th and 12th wagons derailed behind the engine. The loco pilot applied emergency brakes and informed the control room. Officials from Central Station and Prayagraj Division were notified. An Accident Relief Train arrived shortly and removed the first wagon at 12:23 PM and the second at 12:35 PM. The train departed approximately an hour later.
The derailment occurred approximately 15 kilometers from the site of the Sabarmati Express derailment on August 16th at 2:30 AM. The police, ATS, NIA, and SAG are investigating the previous incident.
The incident is being investigated by several railway departments. The derailment occurred on the loop line of Govindpuri's number one station. Experts from the operating, mechanical, engineering, safety, and other departments of the railway may inspect the site on Sunday to determine the cause. Railway officials also collected video footage and photographs on Saturday. They investigated suspected objects under and around the wheels of the freight train. Amit Singh, PRO of Prayagraj Division, stated that no damage occurred during the incident. A report will be prepared after an investigation by all railway departments.
