With the roll out of new TTs, we are introducing 3 new enhancements:
.
1. "To Be Introduced" trains: As the title implies, Admins may add Trains that are announced in the Budget and Not yet introduced, to this list, with WHATEVER tentative TT is available, and whatever sketchy or vague information is available. NO HARM DONE. The sub-title on the Train page will CLEARLY indicate that the train is "To Be Introduced, and that the TT MAY change". The train will NOT appear in Search and will not appear in the drop-down...
more... boxes. A new list of "To Be Introduced" trains will soon be added.
.
2. "Imaginary" train: Once again, the title says it all. Some restrictions will be imposed, and members will be able to add their own imaginary routes and trains. The trains will be CLEARLY marked up in the blogs, so as not to cause confusion with real trains. Needless to say, the trains will not appear in Search or in the drop-down boxes. For those who are concerned with these developments, here is a reiteration that special markups will be introduces so as not to cause confusion. Please bear with us in the interim.
.
3. "Number Effective Date": Sometimes, trains are renumbered with a FUTURE effective date. When they are renumbered today, PNR/Availability/Live Status fetches with the new number do not work. This issue will be fixed with this enhancements. Admins will be able to renumber trains AS SOON AS the info is available with the FUTURE effective date. Thereafter, the update is DONE, and the software will take care of fetching with the old or new number as the case may be.
.
TT related enhancements to be introduced:
Built-in web-spreadsheet interface so that the individual TTs can be edited in-place in one click, rather than painstakingly one-by-one.
.
Further TT maintenance suggestions are most welcome. Thanks.
