The theft of the SSP's wife's purse has caused a stir in Bhopal. The purse didn't contain any money, but had a water bottle, keys, and other items. Renu had boarded the train from Jabalpur and was traveling to Gwalior. The theft happened in the AC coach, despite the presence of a ticket examiner (TTE), a coach manager, and RPF/GRP staff claiming to patrol the area. Despite the alleged patrol by GRP and RPF personnel, thefts continue to be frequent on trains, especially between Jhansi and Gwalior. The SSP Rajesh Singh Chandel confirmed the theft and said that the purse contained no money, only a water bottle, keys, and other items. He has reported the theft to the GRP and they are investigating the matter.
