The procurement of railway coaches is facing delays due to a lack of interest from private companies. A high-level meeting will be held in Delhi to address this issue. The project is expected to carry 9.84 lakh passengers daily upon completion. In other news, a tunnel track between Sakleshpur and Subramanya is being proposed. The Chitradurga-Hosapete-Koppal-Alamatti-Vijayapura railway project is also being advocated for, aiming to reduce travel time between Bengaluru and Vijayapura to 10 hours. Mumbai and Bangalore are the only two metros unconnected by SF.
Let me list down the problems first.
1. There are 100+ buses operated by powerful persons (you can infer what I mean). So, Udyan cannot run faster.
2. Being a CR train, SWR is not interested in holding it in SBC. Delayed arrival and early departure is always desired. So no...

3. Has RSA with Siddeshwar, which is ONT. At CSMT, it cannot have delayed departure. Has to be sent out of Mumbai. Early arrival at CSMT means more time platform occupancy at CSMT.

Solutions:
1. Handover Udyan to SWR (Udyan was SWR train earlier). PM at UBL. Can have RSA with UBL DR. TT can be something like this: UBL 1830 CSMT 0930; CSMT DEP 1100 PUNE 1415 SUR 1745 GTL 2345 SBC 0530. Return SBC 2330 GTL 0500 SUR 1100 PUNE 1430 CSMT 1800. UBL train: CSMT 2030 UBL 0945.
2. Swap TT of Udyan and LTT CBE. CSMT 0930 PUNE 1245 SUR 1600 GTL 2230 SBC 0400 CBE 1100. CBE 1500 SBC 2200 PUNE 1300 CSMT 1600. Udyan can be at night from Mumbai - Dep 2130 SBC 1630. Leave SBC by 1830 arrival at CSMT 1330.

There is no push by anybody. So doubling, electrification, track strengthening, blah blah yielded ZERO results. We are where we were in 1980s. All amounts spent without any gain.

KSRTC is running only 4 or 6 buses. Private bus operators are ruling the sector. They have hold everywhere. VRL, SRS, National etc have dozens of buses, apart from many Mangalore and Maharashtra based small operators.

Both SUR GTL and MRJ UBL lines are electrified lines. SUR GTL line is shorter compared to MRJ. Mumbai upto GTL is part of Golden quadrangle.
Also, beyond UBL towards Pune, ghat sections and speed restrictions are there, which make it lose.

Railways should prioritize linking of BNC line with YPR line. Though much blah blah is written everywhere, this aspect is not there at all. If done, Trains from YPR side can enter SBC and go towards BNC side ( For example, LTT CBE, MAS UBL, Kongu, MAS SMET, VLNK VSG etc).

Redevelopment should create more flexibility in train operation, but what is planned is commercial complex !?!?! 🤔. As if Bangalore is dearth of malls and commercial places!. By such acts, you are putting...
